Maxine, the founder of With Nature Counselling, has over 23 years of experience in nursing, social work, and counselling.

Maxine has lived on the Sunshine Coast for 13 years and has developed extensive networks in this area from her work in the social and community services sector. She holds a Master of Counselling (Behavioural Health), a Master of Social Work and a Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology), with additional qualifications in nature-based therapy and trauma-responsive practice. Maxine is a member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA), the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA), the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), and Outdoor Health Australia (OHA).

Maxine enjoys walking in nature, nature photography, trail running, mountain biking, swimming, and is a passionate advocate for social justice and environmental protection. Her counselling approach is trauma responsive and integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), nature-based therapy, mindfulness, and narrative practices with a focus on helping women with anxiety, depression, life transitions and feelings of isolation.

Maxine offers evidence-based personalised therapeutic counselling outdoors in nature, as well as online counselling. Maxine focuses on holistic health, incorporating physical, emotional, and environmental well-being into her practice. She offers outdoor sessions in natural settings on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, including Noosa and Coolum, providing accessible ‘walk and talk’ therapy, park and beach sessions. Online counselling sessions are available via telehealth Australia wide.
